I don't want a camera with an egg timer and the like - but it would be nice
to have a camera that could take either chemical film and digital film as
the occasion demanded.

I know that some folks get around this problem by carrying six or seven
camera bodies, 57 lenses, databacks, interchangeable finders, interchangeble
screens, tripods and monopods in various sizes, motordrives, bellows
attachments, bulk film packs, polaroid camera for test shots, studio lights,
reflectors, portable darkrooms (chemical and digital), petrol generators (to
power the portable darkrooms, lights etc), etc. - I read your checklist for
the start of each day ;-)

I on the other hand, like to take my camera with me when travelling (usually
with a backpack in remote wilderness areas) so I need to keep the kit light.
I know that carrying just my Olympus XA or an MX would be the most practical
approach but like like many people on the PDML I guess I'm not entirely
practically inclined. Photography is after all a hobby and a passion and
not something that needs to be justified in a practical sense.

Mike mentioned a Pentax that had an alarm clock built into it. It's a
shame that the clock wasn't connected to a timer so the camera could
turn on the coffee machine in the morning. The phone would be a nice
touch, especially with an auto-dial feature and a GPS. I feel that
many cameras today are lacking in essential features which are so
important in today's modern, fast-paced society.

so it

 And Aaron replied:

Yeah, and it doesn't have a phone in it, either! ;)

I' still running the shareware version as i dont want to pay for it :) I
would have prefered a 30day trial or similar as opposed to that cross
hatching it puts on the image.

I think it works *very* well when it comes to results.

 | Vuescan has an option to focus the scanner, maybe this can overcome
 the
 | problem?

2001-10-03 Thread Doug Brewer

Short answer: Nope.

Long answer: I just dropped close to three bills on the last format change, so unless
you can script it and get it installed without involving anyone on our server, it
won't get done, unless you want to pay for it.

Thanks,

Doug
