Using your Palm as Pentax IR Remote I have programmed a Pentax remote database file, so that you can use your Palm as Remote Control D or F without the need for an original remote. This database file is for NoviiRemote (http://www.novii.tv/products/noviir/) for Palm.
Initially, I preferred OmniRemote as it appeared more flexible with macros and customizable layout. However, I simply could not get it to work, despite playing around with all the different settings combinations. NoviiRemote is big and less flexible; but it works with my Palm. I used VCR layout as it has a big OK button; and one should be able to press it with a finger without a stylus. I have programmed both the power button and the OK button with the Pentax Remote. Just hotsync the pdb file and you can select it from the top menu under VCR. It worked fine with MZ/ZX series SLRs and Optios when tested with NoviiRemote 2.3 with Tungten T3 and m505. And I got much better range with T3 which worked over 30+ft or 10+m indoors! For m505, it only worked within 10-15ft (3-5m). Outdoor range with bright sunlight is expected to be much shorter.
