Re: Who recommended Ilford inkjet paper
I've printed on Epson Glossy Film, which is somewhat subtle compared to papers, but very attractive in its own way. However, it's quite opaque and won't project. But I think there are some transparency stocks as well. I have never tried printing on them, but I believe they're intended for use with overhead projectors (like the teachers used to use in classrooms.) Joe While in Charlotte today I stopped by Camera World to pick another pack of the smooth pearl. They were out of that in the 25 sheet packs but did have the Galerie Smooth Gloss. The instruction sheet is the same for both and I quote.. Epson Stylus 785EPX, 870, 875, 890, 895, 1270, 1280, 1290 (didn't know there was a 1290) Paper/Film Type Photo Quality Glossy Film (or Premium Photo Glossy Photo Paper) SettingsFrom 720 dpi This raises a question in my feeble mind. You can also get the latest recommendations from their web site at www.ilford.com, which is what I do. I've found that the settings recommended on the web site give excellent results without any tweaking. Re: Who recommended Ilford inkjet paper
Epson Fine Art Paper and Epson Gallerie both come with printer recommendations. For Epson Fine Art on the Epson 1200 they recommend the Photo Quality Ink Jet settingr. For Gallerie, Photo Quality Glossy Film gets the nod. I have found that both are right on without any further adjustment of printer saturation, contrast, or color. The 870 choices are probably the same. Paul Joseph Tainter wrote: > do the Ilford papers come with any guidelines for printer > settings? I use an Epson 870. Re: Who recommended Ilford inkjet paper
I have an HP Deskjet 722c - and oldy but I think not a baddie, but would it be a waste printing on Ilford Classic Pearl? That is, how much of the stability and quality are in the paper as opposed to the ink? annsan Aaron Reynolds wrote: > > On Tuesday, December 18, 2001, at 08:38 AM, David Brooks wrote: > > > > Aaron:Is this paper(s)available in Canada in the 8.5x11 size?? > > We've got the Classic Pearl, but the other ones have not been made > available to me yet. I first spotted it about three months ago in "sample" packs of five or six sheets. I went through three or four of those before I finally found it in 25 sheet packs. Now I'm addicted. After you've printed on Fine Art, it's hard to go back :-). I've also tried Ilford Gallerie in glossy USB size. It's quite nice as well. Very good color and brilliance, although the surface isn't as smooth as some of the Epson glossy papers. I'm printing both papers on an Epson 1200. I was going to ask that, too. ;) I love the pearl stuff. The others are not yet available in Canada in 24" rolls, so I haven't had a chance to try them in the 7500. -Aaron - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. Re: Who recommended Ilford inkjet paper
Bill, KG4LOV [EMAIL PROTECTED] I must agree with Mark on this, at least partially. With much trepidation, after disastrous results with Ilford's previous offering, I tried the Classic Pearl. It seems to be identical to the Epson Colorlife and much easier to come by locally. Now I must try the Fine Art :-) Bill, KG4LOV [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Whoever it was...thank you! > > I've just tried the Classic Pearl, which I like quite a bit, the semi-matte, > which I like a whole lot and the Fine Art paper, which is just beautiful! > > I think the semi-matte is going to become my standard, everyday printing > paper but the 100% rag, acid-free Fine Art paper is going to be my choice > for my most prized personal prints.
