Everybody gets one session. You're in a tent next time. Plus, if you'd stayed
longer today, Cath would not have had the time to go out and buy a new car.

Interesting cultural difference: On this side of the pong, we have
"federal holidays"; Over on the east side of the Atlantic, you have "Bank
Holidays." British banks must be even more powerful than American ones.

Bob Walkden's prediction that buying a weatherproof lens would
guarantee rain-free walking proved accurate.

Sounds good - and you've had some uncharacteristic warm and sunny weather I
hope? Might be some very heavy and thundery rain overnight, hopefully nothing
too disruptive. Bit like Bob after a pint.

Safe journey home and sorry we couldn't make it this time around. We should be
all settled into our new home in a month and crossing fingers we get a nibble
ot two on the sale of our house.

Still planning on Devon but might be a year or two yet...

Cheers!

Wrapping up UK trip 2018

2018-05-26 Thread Mark Roberts
We're back in London now aaand... it's Saturday of Bank Holiday
Weekend in May. So it's even more of a zoo than usual. We're in the
Paddington Hilton relaxing for the moment; Lisa has her foot on a bag
of ice (side effects of a 100-mile walk have taken their toll). Hoping
to have enough energy for a vegetarian version of fish & chips and a
couple of pints this evening.

It's been a brilliant trip. We experienced a fantastic 9-day walk
through the stunning countryside of the north and four days of
unparalleled hospitality from the Wilson family. They were literally
too kind.

It'll be a while until I get photos on line because I haven't even
looked at any of them yet and as soon as we're back in Boston I have
to turn around and head down to Grandfather Mountain for the Nature
Photography Weekend there. But I think it will be worth the wait. At
least if you like photos of sheep.

Further updates soon. Or relatively soon.
