Hi,
I just got a very nicely looking Pentax SP1000 with supposedly
nonfunct. meter for a nice sum (at least here, comparing Spotmatic
prices) of ~33$/40E ... What a beauty! I now wish all my cameras
   had hot-shoe-less prisms...

   for few family pictures, see
   www.volny.cz/fotof/tech/family
The SP1000 sports a mounted 1.8/80 Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar, really
superb glass, the K2DMD sports a 2.8/180 Olympia Sonnar, the LX a
   SMC F 1.4/50 ... It's also a picture of Pentax-Zeiss connection
(well, if you count Zeiss Jena into the CZ),
these two companies cooperated a lot in the 70s, resulting in
(according to some) K mount and several lens designs made together,
as well as T*/SMC (it was perhaps a sign of what later came with
Zeiss-Kyocera). Which one came first depends on which "expert"
you ask (meaning which side he is on), but damn - I don't give a
dime who was first. The connection is nice enough! Now I can use
all my CZJ M42 glass without any stupid ugly adapters!

Good light,
 Frantisek Vlcek
