I too am waiting forever... to buy it!

Maybe when it gets below 650$...

I see that they've also sent out the requisite monthly order
confirmations, I wonder if they are just holding off until their
Pentax buy price makes their sale price profitable. It's possible.

I think part of the reason Dell has a very good deal is because they
make you wait. It's not unusual. I have a friend who frequently orders
through Dell despite not being able to know when his order will
arrive, and he is often emailed and told the delivery date has been
postponed yet again. Not just PCs, he just ordered a rebel through
them last year. If you want to spend money to get it sooner, then
anyone other than Dell would be able to serve you. For example, the
husband surprised me with a K10D at christmas. From making the
decision at thanksgiving, he was able to get the camera within two
weeks. I'm embarrassed to say he just went online and got it at the
first place that told him that they had it, instead of buying through
a place I trust, but I think it just goes to show you that you don't
need to wait if you don't want to. It cost him around $919-ish? with
free shipping.

I have the low interest cards too, but Dell had a very, very good
offer. I noticed today that Amazon has the kit back in stock
directly; for many weeks they were making it available through second
party sellers.

I have low interest credit cards and am not willing to wait for
alternative credit sources ... I bought the K10D body through
Amazon.com : they had it fastest. It cost me $908 complete with
shipping and sales tax.

anyone else waiting forever for their K10D?

2007-01-12 Thread Micah B. Kleit
Maybe I'm just impatient, but I've been waiting since December 15 for
K10D to arrive. I ordered through Dell because they had an excellent
deal, but when I see that other dealers have it in stock, I'm
wondering if either Dell doesn't have the juice to expedite orders or
if Pentax doesn't have enough stock. How long is too long to wait
for the camera? Has anyone else had to wait over a month since the
camera became generally available? I would normally have ordered
through BH, but again, Dell had a good deal through it's credit
services.

Thanks,

Micah
