I got a chance to handle some rare Leicas. One is the Leica 72, the half-frame Leica. Another was the 250 Leica Reporter. I was excited to be able to hold the rare Compur rim-set Leica. I also had an opportunity to hold the first Canon 35mm rangefinder camera. That camera is, I think, extremely rare. I picked up a Leica M1, the non rangefinder Leica, a few years ago up in Seattle, WA. When I first saw it the price was $600.00. Everytime I went up to visit the store I noticed that the price for that Leica was falling. Eventually it reached $200.00 and I decided to purchase the camera. I am frankly amazed also that someone is willing to pay that much for one, but thats the price of wanting something nice in your collection.
