No. Its about $725 good. That's what I paid for mine new, several years ago. Last I checked they were still available new for around $750. I've got the F* 300/4.5 and the FA* 200/2.8. The 300/4.5 is possibly even sharper than the 200/2.8 (at mid-range apertures like f/8 to f/16). But I paid less than $600 a year or so ago from KEH for it. I wouldn't pay $1200 for it. At that price, I only have to add a couple of hundred more and I can get the FA* 200/4 Macro _brand_ _new_!
