The ones with the (A)P should as they normally have the connections for both. Any Ricoh P or third party (A)P mount lens should be used with caution (or not used) on Pentax AF bodies. - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. Re: ricoh rikenon lenses
I have a Ricoh lens (50mm2.0 Rikenon) which I tried on Pentax bodies including the 5n. It has this "P" position on the aperture ring. But it does not correspond to the "A" position on Pentax lenses: The cameras do not recognize they are in aperture priority mode, which they do if a Pentax lens is shifted to "A". Instead, the camerase treat it as a very small aperture. Beside this, I also suspect the metering is not quite right either. I can put aperture on, say 8, on both Ricoh and Pentax lenses, and the cameras give different light meter readings. These lead to me to see the Ricoh, at least this lens I have, as compatible with Pentax bodies only for the mount. ricoh rikenon lenses
hi I recall some post here a few days ago mentioning about older ricoh lenses being "incompatible" with modern pentax cams (like the zx-5n for eg). I have a rikenon p 1:2 50mm lens and a 35-70mm zoom. Will they work with my zx-5n... i dont want to put them on if they arent coming off after that! :O Also, on the aperture ring one has a P mark and other has a (A)P mark. What do they mean ? Is that the same as the pentax-A lenses? thanks, nitin - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
