Bob, I have a Carl Zeiss Jena 20/2.8, with the same 67mm filter size as the Pentax 20/2.8. For about $13, I bought a pretty black Adorama-brand metal circular wide-angle hood from Adorama. It's not petite. I plan to fit it with a Schneider 115mm press-on hood from B&H ($20) or a stretchable Op/Tech Hood Hat, size large (4.5 inches), $9.25 from Adorama. I just bought a filter for the lens: Heliopan multicoated UV Slim (about 4mm), the slimmest filter that can accept threaded hoods. Actually, Bob, I wasn't specifically referring to the A 20/2.8's jen-you-wine aw-fish-ill hood, but to the lens itself (which has that flaring front end to cleverly prevent vignetting when adding a filter or a hood). As for the "official" A 20/2.8 hood (I think it's a MH-RB67), it's shaped like a big pie plate with a hole in the middle, and is pretty useless, in my opinion. (Although, mounted on a pole and aimed toward the equator, it picks up 249 TV channels...) It does come in a nice leatherette case, though - . Peter asked: << Fred. It's the 20 F4 that's the stealth model. Got my wires crossed Anyone got one? >> Yes Peter, and the M20/4 is much stealthier than the K20/4 which is a big old thing... Re: smc 18/3.5
IMO, there is. It's the one for the Super-Tak 20/4.5. You'll need a step-up ring for it, but it'll work great - in fact, even better on the A20/2.8 than on the ST and K 20 mm lenses, which also required a step ring, but from 58mm to 77mm. The hood comes with such a step ring, and all you'd have to do is replace it with the appropriate sized ring for the A20/2.8. Stealth it ain't! Both the A 16/2.8 Fisheye and the A 15/3.5 are all too often likely to be left at home (unless I know in advance that one or the other might be used), but the 20/2.8 is likely to be with me in my kit bag. (I'm not sure that the A 20/2.8 quite qualifies as a "stealth wide angle", what with its flaring filter thread mounting, but it certainly is a ~portable~ wide angle.)
