Chair, Department of Economics Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Unique Opportunity for an established, active and visionary economist to chair a growing Department of Economics at a top-ranked technological university. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to hire up to five additional faculty members, almost doubling the present faculty size of six. In addition to serving Rensselaer's 4500 undergraduate and 2000 graduate students, the Department offers the BS and MS in Economics and developed the first PhD Program in Ecological Economics, which currently has an enrollment of about 20 students. To complement the science and technology that defines the Institute, desirable fields of research include international economics, economics of technical change, organizational/information economics, game theory, econometrics, and environmental/ecological economics.
