After years of free market rhetoric, could capital be coming to realize
that it was shooting itself in the foot with its extremism?

I just found a book

Brown, Kenneth M. 1997. Downsizing Science: Will the United States Pay a
Price? (Washington, DC : AEI Press) -- talk about a den of whores.

The author is concerned that we need to increase federal funding and
protect the integrity of researchers lest we screw up the economy.
