I have another analysis.

Whether they are aware of it or not, they work for the cause of US hegemony.

It's not working, but if you look at the boost it gave to the defense 
industry, the surveillance-industrial complex, and the 'war on terror', 
as a marketing tool for insinuating troops in countries around the world 
and instilling a state of perpetual fear that continually drives the 
non-muslim nations to totalitarian/military footing, one must ask 'which 
side is AQ really on?'


That IS chaos.

To a large extent the alqaeda motif resembles the 'chaos' in the get smart 
motif... where a good cop maxwell smart chases the chaos guys everywhere. i 
never thought that someting so silly could become reality. only in the pull the
