[Bug 2299171] New: perl-Crypt-OpenSSL-DSA-0.20-28.fc41 FTBFS: tests fail with forbidden SHA-1

2024-07-22 Thread bugzilla
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2299171

Bug ID: 2299171
   Summary: perl-Crypt-OpenSSL-DSA-0.20-28.fc41 FTBFS: tests fail
with forbidden SHA-1
   Product: Fedora
   Version: rawhide
Status: NEW
 Component: perl-Crypt-OpenSSL-DSA
  Assignee: ppi...@redhat.com
  Reporter: ppi...@redhat.com
QA Contact: extras...@fedoraproject.org
CC: perl-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org,
perl-ma...@lists.fedoraproject.org, ppi...@redhat.com,
wjhns...@hardakers.net
Blocks: 2260875 (F41FTBFS,RAWHIDEFTBFS)
  Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora

perl-Crypt-OpenSSL-DSA-0.20-28.fc41 fails to build in Fedora 41 with
crypto-policies ≥ 20240717-1.git154fd4e.fc41 because a test fails:

Error setting context
80A2E438C27F:error:0398:digital envelope
routines:do_sigver_init:invalid digest:crypto/evp/m_si
gver.c:342:
# Test 6 got: "0" (t/90-openssl-compat.t at line 59)
# Expected: "1"
#  t/90-openssl-compat.t line 59 is: ok($openssl_think, 1);

The trigger is that a default cryptopolicy disabled SHA-1 for signature
purposes.

--- Comment #2 from Fedora Fails To Install ---
Hello,

Please note that this comment was generated automatically by
https://pagure.io/releng/blob/main/f/scripts/ftbfs-fti/follow-policy.py
If you feel that this output has mistakes, please open an issue at
https://pagure.io/releng/

This package fails to install and maintainers are advised to take one of the
following actions:

 - Fix this bug and close this bugzilla once the update makes it to the
repository.
(The same script that posted this comment will eventually close this
bugzilla
when the fixed package reaches the repository, so you don't have to worry
about it.)

or

 - Move this bug to ASSIGNED if you plan on fixing this, but simply haven't
done so yet.

or

 - Orphan the package if you no longer plan to maintain it.

If you do not take one of these actions, the process at
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/#_package_removal_for_long_standing_ftbfs_and_fti_bugs
will continue.
This package may be orphaned in 4+ weeks.
This is the second reminder (step 4) from the policy.

Don't hesitate to ask for help on
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/de...@lists.fedoraproject.org/ if
you are unsure how to fix this bug.

Hello python3-pyspf maintainer(s),

would it be possible for python3-pyspf to use alternatives for
/usr/bin/spfquery?

So

[root@d8203ece046f /]# rpm -qf /usr/bin/spfquery
python3-pyspf-2.0.14-18.fc40.noarch
[root@d8203ece046f /]# ls -la /usr/bin/spfquery
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 4602 Jan 26 00:00 /usr/bin/spfquery
[root@d8203ece046f /]# rpm -Vf /usr/bin/spfquery
[root@d8203ece046f /]#

shows that file comes from the python3-pyspf package. I think the best course
of action would be to move this bugzilla to python3-pyspf and ask if it could
use alternatives for /usr/bin/spfquery as well.

What was the version you were upgrading from? We implemented spfquery as
alternatives in bug 1399246, back in 2017, so if anything I would have expected
that issue back in Fedora 26, not now.

And what does rpm -qf /usr/bin/spfquery say? Is it possible you have some other
package installed which doesn't ship it as alternatives? Or even some script
not managed by rpm?
