Syntax::Highlight::Perl PPM problem in 5.10 repo ?
I need to generate some HTML for some perl code, so I thought I would try Syntax::Highlight::Perl. I used ppm to install it, but I was not able to use the module (not found). Upon further investigation, I found that only a Syntax::Highlight::Perl6 package was installed. When I do a search, here is what I see: C:\Documents and Settings\mikeeppm search syntax-highlight-perl 1: Syntax-Highlight-Perl Perl 6 Syntax Highlighter Version: 0.64 Released: 2009-06-25 Repo: ActiveState Package Repository 2: Syntax-Highlight-Perl-Improved Highlighting of Perl Syntactical Structures Version: 1.01 Released: 2004-05-04 Repo: ActiveState Package Repository 3: Syntax-Highlight-Perl6 Perl 6 Syntax Highlighter Version: 0.80 Released: 2010-03-25 Repo: ActiveState Package Repository ..it's that first entry that seems to be causing me problems. Does anyone have advice about how to resolve this? Should I just install directly from CPAN? ppm problem
I'm running ActiveState Perl version 5.8.4 build 810. PPM used to work great. Now, when I do a search, it gives the following error message: Error: No valid repositories: Error: This SOAP server does not expose aPPM3-compatible interface. Specifically, it does not implement theppm_protocol() method. Please inform the server's administrator of theproblem. Error: This SOAP server does not expose a PPM3-compatibleinterface. Specifically, it does not implement the ppm_protocol()method. Please inform the server's administrator of the problem. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks, Ken Cardinal Health -- Working together. PPM problem
Hi. I have used PPM before successfully. However, over the last couple days I have not been able to get it to work correctly. I am using ActivePerl 5.6.0.613 under Win98. The first issue is pretty basic. I type PPM at the DOS command line, get the PPM prompt and then type "search". I get no response -- no list of available packages... just a new PPM prompt and an hourglass that takes some time to go away. Second, as I saw with another poster (30 Mar), I get this problem too: I said: ppm PPM install SOAP-Lite PPM said: Install package 'SOAP-Lite?' (y/N): I said: y PPM said: Retrieving package 'SOAP-Lite'... Error installing package 'SOAP-Lite': Could not locate a PPD file for package SOAP-Lite PPM Does anyone know what the problem is here? RE: PPM problem
The last time this happened, it was the ActiveState PPM server having problems. RE: PPM problem
Yeah, I don't think that's it. I see no other posts to that effect... although I have seen posts to that effect in the past. Can there be another reason? Is it possible, as some other poster said, that my PPM version might be out of whack?
