Make sure you are sending the proper MIME type header like so:
print "Content-type: text/html\n\n";
# rest of content comes afterwards

Subject: IE does not display cgi script output
When I use IE to run a server side perl cgi script the program's return
data, instead of being displayed in the browser, pops up a 'File
Download' box saying that 'Some files can harm your computer. If the
file information below..yada yada yada.' Then it prompts me to open,
save, cancel or more info with the file name being set to the name of
the script. Works fine in Netscape/Mozilla. IE 6. What gives? Thx.
