Let's talk about a real situation. Some people interested in Syriac
developed fonts and labeled them the same way (free to redistribute,
...). Now both MS Windows and Red Hat Linux ship with those fonts.
Now everybody can see Syriac if the software supports it, there is no
longer a need to download special fonts, it comes with the software
itself. The licensing was open enough even for Microsoft to add it to
their Windows XP that they sell for profit. It was benefical to
Microsoft (who didn't pay a cent for it), but it was also benefical to
the Syriac users.
