unfortunately our application for the Google Summer of Code 2023 got 
rejected. I haven't received any feedback on the reasons yet; however, 
looking at our GSoC ideas list I can see that we haven't done a good 
enough job to describe our GSoC-projects.

Yes.

Yes.

I think MATDENSE for GPUs is a good idea. In that vein, I would like to
work on operator
representation (same thing as Deep O-Net, FNO) except from a slightly
different point of view.

In a completely different direction, I would like to work on running simple
simulations (heat flow,
elastic stress) over CAD geometries from industry. Getting this workflow
right is the first step
toward design optimization.
