You didn't discuss your disc configuration or interface. That's
going to be an important component. Think about it carefully.

I would look at FreeBSD, myself. But look _very carefully_ at the
hardware it actually supports before buying anything. People get
burned all the time by buying hardware that is not well supported,
and then having to go through contortions to make the operating
system work well. Choose the OS first, then buy the hardware to
suit, not the other way 'round. (You do this, effectively, when you
buy Sun or IBM RS/6000 gear, don't forget.)

Every 64-bit OS I've heard of is listed in the buildfarm.

http://www.pgbuildfarm.org/cgi-bin/show_members.pl

I think the listed of 64-bit platforms *not* supported may be more
interesting.

Do you have a particular platform in mind? In any case, the O/S is
usually a more important question than the hardware platform.

Have anice day,

Win32 is not supported on 64bit IIRC.

Should be no problem with the win32 build on 64 bit Windows. What we don't
have yet is a 64 bit build for win64.

Actually, win32 works just fine on 64bit. Meaning that 32-bit PostgreSQL
runs on x64 versions of Windows.
Win64, however, is not supported. That would be a 64-bit version of
PostgreSQL running on a 64-bit version of Windows.
