I haven't been here long, but I enjoy reading the threads, and I've gained quite a lot of insight from the few threads in which I've been involved. I don't even use databases professionally -- I'm a stock trader -- but, I have been interested in PostgreSQL for personal projects for a long time. I'm glad I'm finally involved in a community where I can learn from other peoples' experience and interact with those people on a sort of informal but still professional level. My friend started a small e-learning company and asked me to develop the IT solution. The company is now 5 years old and postgresql has been in use for the last 4 years. In the past 4 years NOT ONCE has postgresql crashed on us. We have had times when the server utilization was at 100% and swap was being used as memory but postgresql kept going. Today, we have a quite a few high profile clients (fortune 50) with hundreds of their employees using our system to keep their skills updated.
