Re: [Phono-L] COLUMBIA QUESTION...
I'm coming into this conversaiton a bit late but I don't think they can be interchanged because the BF has a longer feedscrew. The BE feedscrew would be too short for the BF,and the BF would be too long for the BE. [Phono-L] Spring grease
It's been years (decades... ?) since I re-greased a Victrola motor - can't even find what I used to use so.. anybody got a recommendation as to what kind of grease to use - brand/model number would be nice but anything's a start. thanks, Darrell ___ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.org
Re: [Phono-L] Spring grease
I'll be buying more soon, but I've been using grease I found at an automotive store. It was a molybdenum based grease with graphite.I've had the present container for a good number of years now and it seems to be the same consistency as it was originally, no signs of getting dried out/stiffer. Are you able to remove the kit and put it back to 2 minute or is the feedscrew part of it? Re: [Phono-L] Spring grease
Hi Darell, I've been using Moly-Graph No. 3141 graphite grease ( by Sta-Lube) for years without any problems. I've checked on the internet and it's still being sold. You can probably find it at automotive stores too. It's probably very similar to the grease that Ron L uses. Ron K (Wisconsin) ___ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.org
[Phono-L] Re grease
I use Mobile 1 synthetic grease for springs, and I mix in some graphite to help along. I use synthetic castrol on the motor with not too much problems,. ___ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.org
