[Phono-L] Edison C-4 Radio / Phonograph Combination

2010-10-02 Thread Terry Baer
I recently picked up a c1929 Edison C-4 which is a great machine but doesn't
exactly fit into my collecting focus so I'm considering a sale or trade for
something earlier. The man I purchased it from went through it and got it
playing very well by "tuning up" the amp and rebuilding the speaker and
reproducer. It plays lateral 78's - not Diamond Discs - and it sounds
great.

I've posted some pictures at:

Site URL: http://edisonc4radiophonocombination.shutterfly.com/

Since this is out of my area of expertise I'm not sure what it's worth but
am entertaining offers - both cash and trade. Possible delivery within the
midwest or to a phonograph show or fall auction.

Thanks,

[Phono-L] Edison Diamond "A" Reproducer For Sale

2011-04-24 Thread Terry Baer
I am offering a very nice original Diamond "A" reproducer for sale. This
will play Blue Amberols and Indesctructible cylinders on Opera, Amberola I &
III, and Edison School machines. Oxidized bronze finish excellent. Plays
loud and clear. Asking $750 or trade for repeat attachment or parts (any
make / model). Especially interested in Weber, Model "J", and Gilbert
repeaters.

I can email pictures and wave files if interested. Please contact OFF LIST
at address below.

[Phono-L] Edison Concert Banner Case and Lid Opportunity

2012-01-08 Thread Terry Baer
I just posted a nice original case and lid with all the hardware for a
banner Concert on eBay (item 170761333838). This is a nice pair and a
chance to upgrade or complete a machine.

Best,

[Phono-L] Complete List of Blue Amberols

2013-08-08 Thread Terry Baer
Hello. Does someone have a comple list of all Edison Blue Amberols
including record number, title, and artist in MSWord or Excel or even TXT
format that they could make available to me off-list? I do not want a PDF
scan.

Thanks,

Terry

[Phono-L] David Gene Scheiter 1958 - 2014

2014-02-16 Thread Terry Baer
Many in the phonograph collecting fraternity knew David "Hannibal Dave"
Scheiter who passed away January 27, 2014. Below is a note from the St.
Louis Chapter of APS regarding the passing of our friend and fellow
phonographer from Hannibal, MO that includes links to his obit and memorial
guestbook.

I am saddened to inform you of the passing of Dave Scheiter on Monday,
January 27 with subsequent burial on Friday, January 31. He died suddenly,
at his home, apparently from a heart attack. He was only 55 years old. I am
sorry for the delay in notifying members, but we have only now learned of
this most unfortunate loss.

Most of us in the GAPS club have known Dave for many years. We remember
him as one of the nicest, most congenial persons in the club. I recall our
trip to Hannibal for a meeting at his house as one of our most memorable
club meetings. We should remember Dave as the true gentleman that he was.

I do not have any contact information for family, but I suspect that mail
sent to his address will reach them:
414 North Fifth St., Hannibal, MO 63401
