I've had the same problem on Solaris 9 with Apache 1.3.27 and PHP 4.3.1
but after applying the above patch, everything worked again.

I'have applied the patch to php4-STABLE-200302161430. Unfortunately -
still it doesn't work.

Should I apply this patch to the latest "Stable (4.3.x-dev)" version or
to 4.3.0 version?
