Most likely this crash will disappear when you "cleanup" and compile all related stuff with same compiler / linker. In any case, this is not PHP bug as is. I get the "Abort" if I configure with --with-pspell, but do not get the Abort if I configure without it. http://snaps.php.net/php4-STABLE-latest.tar.gz This was true of a more inclusive configure ... --with-pspell --> Abort . The pspell library like most others I'm using was built with gcc-3.0.X ...
