ID: 28645 User updated by: herps at raqtweak dot com Reported By: herps at raqtweak dot com Status: Open Bug Type: Feature/Change Request Operating System: Windows XP Professional PHP Version: 4.3.7 New Comment: I upgraded to 5.0.0 And guess what... That DID work!! Previous Comments: [2004-07-08 15:39:10] herps at raqtweak dot com I tried everything, editing the ONLY php.ini on my system, rebooting, even ini_set... and so on... Searched google for hours before I posted here.. No luck! I DID find quite some other users who had the exact same problem! But never got an answer as well... So sniper, before you post again: I am appearantly not the only retard/one who has this problem!!! The exact description is in my first post... Can not think of anything else... [2004-07-08 07:55:55] [EMAIL PROTECTED] The ini setting for STMP can be changed anywhere. Saying that it simply doesn't work doesn't help any. See: http://bugs.php.net/how-to-report.php http://www.php.net/support.php [2004-07-06 01:37:05] herps at raqtweak dot com And this machine is a clean install of Windows XP Pro with Apache 2.0.49 and PHP 4.3.7 with no extra IIS stuff or local mail servers running and PHP.INI is configured to use a 3rd party mail server? [2004-07-06 01:35:25] [EMAIL PROTECTED] I just tried on 3rd Windows XP machine since your claim this doesn't work and guess what: IT STILL works... [2004-07-06 01:33:19] herps at raqtweak dot com Have you seen the Votes? Obviously I am NOT the only one. Hey sniper, can you perhaps have someone else look at it who does not immediately dismiss a bug report to avoid extra work? Furthermore, second oppinion is always a good idea of course... Thanks! Previous Comments: [2004-06-22 18:35:07] sean at govbt dot com on window make sure in the php.ini the smtp= is uppercase iow SMTP=mailserver.mail.com [2004-06-11 13:17:38] herps at raqtweak dot com sniper, why do you always provide useless comments and blame others before you know all details? Don't you think I tried everything I could? I searched google for hours, to find out what was wrong. Search the internet, plenty of people have this problem. I searched and searched for a resolution, can not find one. Even looked it up in my PHP Bible... Could someone please have a look at why it won't load the values? Like I said, it loads the rest, but NOT the SMTP value... [2004-06-11 12:33:57] [EMAIL PROTECTED] You're doing something wrong, this works fine. [2004-06-07 17:16:45] herps at raqtweak dot com Apache2 module. Only 1 PHP.ini file. Searched entire system. I AM using "show extensions" option in WinXP, so I do not have php.ini.ini [2004-06-07 17:07:13] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Are you using PHP as Apache module or CGI? #28645 [Opn]: SMTP value won't load although configured in php.ini
ID: 28645 User updated by: herps at raqtweak dot com Reported By: herps at raqtweak dot com Status: Open Bug Type: Mail related Operating System: Windows XP Professional PHP Version: 4.3.7 New Comment: OK just did that, still nothing!! Previous Comments: [2004-06-07 07:23:32] sean_o_n at hotmail dot com You have to reboot before the php.ini kicks in, it seems. [2004-06-05 23:28:18] herps at raqtweak dot com Description: I run a small server on WinXP Professional. Apache 2.0.49, PHP 4.3.7 and mySQL 4.0.20 My PHP.ini file is in C:\Windows. I see this when I do a phpinfo(); I edit register_globals from off to on for example, and restart apache. That works. Now, I edit SMTP = localhost to SMTP = mail.my-other-server.com save, and restart Apache. Mail function doesn't work. So I check my phpinfo(); It STILL shows localhost. PHP.ini shows mail.my-other-server.com It just does not seem to load this value from PHP.ini Expected result: Change in phpinfo(); Actual result: -- No change. -- Edit this bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=28645&edit=1
