putenv() affects the current process only with cgi the effects are lost on script end, and even with server modules the chance of getting a new request served by the same process you did use putenv() in before is rather low ... Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2000-04-17 10:56:51] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sorry my english, I'm from Argentine I'm trying to use PUTENV and GETENV to trace some actions from users. I tested with the example from documentation Example 1. Setting an Environment Variable putenv("UNIQID=$uniqid"); Then on other page I used echo getenv("UNIQID"); phpinfo(); And the variable created before never appear I test with php_track_vars, ON and OFF with <?php_track_vars?>, and the result is the same. I tested this on BSD and IRIX with apache and on NT with IIS4 Pablo Murillo [EMAIL PROTECTED] ====================== RED NET ARGENTINA Internet Solutions ====================== Paraguay 419 Piso 2 Of.5 (C1057AAC) - Capital Buenos Aires - Argentina Tel & Fax:(011)4315-3269 http://rednet.com.ar ====================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=4161&edit=1
