Great idea. When hosting multiple sites all chroot'd apache it makes it impossible to use qmail or sendmail etc. Have an option to connect to a localhost port 25 would be a massive help. This would allow me to relay outgoing mail thru my mail server, and remove sendmail from my web servers entirely. It would also vastly simplify taking control of the From: header.
