Re: [PHP-DB] Page refresh question

2005-06-09 Thread Stéphane Bruno
You may also open a sized new window where the update takes place and
the user has a confirmation and a close button.

 Hi there everyone,

I'm using PHP and MySQL in a shopping cart system but the client wants it so
that when you add an item to the cart the page doesn't refresh and we all
know with PHP the page MUST refresh in order to execute the MySQL query. Is
it possible, maybe with javascript? That I can talk to MySQL without having
to have the page itself refresh when they add the items to the cart? This
is really a pain as the system was basically finished and now I'm told they
don't want the page to refresh and they see other sites that don't refresh -
sigh. If it can be done with Javascript, do you have a sample of how I can
use PHP, Javascript and MySQL together to achieve this please?

Any help would not only be appreciated, but would save my life.

 Thank you.

[PHP-DB] PHP Classes to generate Excel files ?

2004-12-22 Thread Stéphane Pinel
Hello,
I'm looking for PHP classes (free or cheap) that are able to generate
Excel files (XML?) with a minimum
of customization capabilities (styles, borders, colors...).

Any idea ?
Thanks in advance.

Don't really need a class...simply output a csv file with the correct

Yes but this way you can't get a minimum of customization features
(styles, borders, colors...etc). XML Excel format can handle that. So I
was looking for such a PHP solution

Thanks.

[PHP-DB] Convert a SQL compliant date to Epoc Unix seconds

2004-10-06 Thread Stéphane Pinel
Hello,
Sorry if the question has already been posted, I checked the archives
and didn't find anything
related.

I'm looking for a simple way to convert a SQL compliant date (eg
2004-09-06) into a Unix
Epoc seconds (similar to the one returned by function time()).

Thanks.

[PHP-DB] Selection problem

2003-09-26 Thread Stéphane RIVEZ
Hello,

I'm novice in php and mysql utilization so...
Here is my problem:
I have a form with some fields (for example, 2: field1 and field2)
My mysql database contains for example 1 table (named for example SQLTABLE)
with 3 fields: ID (auto_increment), AA, BB.
On my form, field1 is represented in HTML by a SELECT SIZE=1... and
returns values of AA in selected in SQLTABLE.
I want when I choose a value with the selection menu in field1 of the form,
that the BB corresponding value of the selected AA automatically appears in
field2 of my form without submitting my page, without loosing informations
already encoded in the page. (An application could be a customer subsciption
form, where you have to enter your name, adress, ZIP, town, for a
determinated country... and you can choose the zip code in a selection menu
and automatically the corresponding town is shown next to it before
subitting the form...)

I suppose that a lot of people can help me

Thanks...

I think you might find it a better option to upload the image to a

Yes I know but in this particular case, I need to store the images in
the MySQL
DB since this DB will be connected to a system that can't deal with
files.

Thanks.

[PHP-DB] Retrieve auto_increment value after an insert with ODBC

2002-10-02 Thread Stéphane

Hi,

I use php and db2 database. I wonder if there is a way to retrieve the
value of an auto-increment id after an insert query.
(Like mysql_insert_id on MySQL database.)
The temporary solution is to select record with the same values than the
insert.

Any others solutions?

2001-03-15 Thread Barraud, Stéphane

I'm trying to use oci8 to acces an oracle database.
I have install PHP4.0.4pl1 as CGI on Windows2000 with IIS 5.0.

When I uncomment the line extension for php_oci8.dll I get the following
error message :

"unable to load dynamic library d:\php\extensions\php_oci8.dll. The
specified module could not be found"

The extension path is correct and working for other dll (like gd)
Oracle client 8.0.6 is installed with OCI.

has anybody an idea of the problem ?

TIA
