RE: [PHP-DB] PEAR DB testing volunteers needed

2001-01-23 Thread signup

Hi Stig,

 Hi,

 This is an invitation to help testing PHP's bundled database abstraction
 layer, DB. If you are interested in helping DB to become stable on
 _your_ database platform, please reply to this message with what
 database systems you have access to.

 Systems in particular interest are:

  * Oracle
  * Sybase
  * Microsoft SQL Server
  * InterBase
  * IBM DB2
  * Any other ODBC database PHP supports

I'll volunteer to test with the iODBC driver manager, and at least one ODBC
driver :)
and will test a linux client against:

- Oracle 8.0, 8.1.5
- Sybase 10, 11
- SQLServer 7, 2000
- DB2 6, 7
- Virtuoso 2.1
- Informix 7.2
- Progress 8.3, 9
- Ingres II

Best regards,
Andrew

  * mSQL (if anyone is still using it?)

 (MySQL and PostgreSQL are pretty much covered.)

 If you are using a database that is not listed, please reply anyway, if
 PHP supports it, DB should.

 Thanks!

I've got PHP + Apache + DB2 under linux and PHP + IIS + MSSQL
server under win32 running on a couple of development systems.

I will be really delighted to help in PEAR development... problem is,
PEAR has remained a little obscure to me up this moment. I don't
have an hint on what CPAN is, so I don't understand all the links to
said thing, and there is very little documentation on the "official"
pear site...

In short, give me some more info on this new "fruit" or at least
where I could find some more do-it-yourself stuff, and'ill be glad to
jump on the wagon. If you think I'm too lazy tu be useful, just don't
consider me :-)

bye!
Merry Christmas to Everyone!
