2001-11-10 Thread August Zajonc

No conferences any time soon... but I'll keep you posted :)

This is really excellent news for those of us following PHP development
relatively closely though I suspect that it'll have little impact outside a
relativly small group of folks. But wanted to pass along a bit of a longer
congrats now that I have a moment. BSD is generous and I trust that this
move will be positive for both Zend and the community. Props for making it.

We've seen a couple of cases where not quite full open-source compatible
situations turned out not to be so good (aka things went to hell), and this
is excellent news.

Look forward to the formal license so we know its a done deal, and if we
ever make it to a conference, champagne or beer is on me.

No, not really. Well, actually, if I was to guess - I could guess/hope it
won't take more than two weeks or so. I'm going to talk to Andi on Sunday
and we'll pitch something, probably similar/identical to that of the PHP
license, and see how it goes from there.

Thank you for the BSD-style license.
And another thank you for not GPLing it.

I promised that anybody that I'll break the neck of anybody that complains
about not going with the GPL. Please inform me of any PHP conferences you
intend to attend, so I know where to find you :)
