call up the vpopmail executables using system() calls should work just as well.
Also probably more reliable as they will lock the qmail files before changing
values.

Is there a set of php scritp that allows to manage vpopmail, I have vqadmin
in perl but it has some bug on my machine ...
i d like to manage account via php ...
Is there any extension to do so ?

Not sure what your last sentence means -- if you have already decided upon (or 
are already) using vpopmail then there isn't much choice? The subject of 
using the vpopmail functions was touched upon recently, refer to archives.

Otherwise you may want to consider using vmailmgr instead. This has a daemon 
which makes it easier to interface using php (no need to worry about 
setuid/setgid etc).

Actually i know what vpopmail is but to be abs clear i want to read more. i
have a few questions in my mind. that i want to be clear about.i want to
make a script that would create new users on a qmail server.i want to be
sure this is what i want.
now any suggestions welcome

If you don't already know what vpopmail is then I doubt whether you need to

I have read on php.net that the vpopmail functions are available in 4.0.5 and 
later.  However, I have not been able to successfully use then on 4.0.6 or 4.1.0.  Is 
this something that needs to be enabled, or am I doing something incorrectly?

Now, there are prototypes linked from that page that provide the 
required arguments for the functions, but that's just about all the 
documentation on those functions I can manage to find.

Maybe Rasmus or someone will know more about those. I gather that they 
are experimental. I've never used them, myself.

[PHP] vpopmail extensions ?

hello,

i'm in need off managing a web site and i need to authenticate the users on the web 
site using their email/passwd adress.
The mail server is using qmail & vpopmail,  vpopmail is compiled with mysql option, so 
i have the choice between managing myself the passwords to compare it with the 
encrypted password in the vpopmail database, OR use the new vpopmail extensions in PHP.

I found that in the PHP changelog :
New extension for vpopmail - http://www.inter7.com/vpopmail, give it a try, but keep 
in mind that it is not ready for production environments. (David Croft, Boian Bonev) 

but i can't find anything in the documentation ... where are those extensions please ?
what are the available functions ?
