The idea is that when documenting a function or method, it's often necessary to pull up the source for it. To do so, one typically has to grep the sources or guess where the function or method is defined. My hope was to set a source control property on each function and method file, which points to the URL of the of the source file. I'm unsure how useful this really is. The structure of php-src is very straight forward and easy to figureout which file the function is in.. The problem may maybe rise when talking about pecl extensions, but then again - not all of them are in php svn tree.. so if I can't get it on all files.. whats the point? -Hannes

It is also pretty straightforward to find function definitions using lxr.php.net. Just type the function name into the search and you'll find the definition. If it is a very commonly used function and the definition is buried in the results just search for PHP_FUNCTION func_name which will get you to the right results. Nikita

[PHP-DOC] Git support in PHPDoE
We have some questions about git support in PHPDoE 1) $Id$ keyqords. Now we can use https://github.com/TheFrozenFire/git-rcs-keywords . Thx to FrozenFire. 2) We can't push to repository through different users. (or I don't know how..) So we must be commit through one user with indicate real user in comment of commit. Any other ideas? 3) We can push after every commit in PHPDoE or periodically with all commits. So? ... may be some questions later. With regards, Alexander Moskaliov ir...@irker.net

Re: [PHP-DOC] Git support in PHPDoE
PhDOE is based on a VCS like Cvs or Svn. The major difficulty is that EN documentation will be steel on Svn, and translation, on Git. I'm worried about this change and the consequence on the PhDOE tools... Is there a treahd who explain why we must do this change ? Or it's just for fun with Git I really need to understand this change. Svn just works fine according to me to handle the documentation. Re: [PHP-DOC] SVN Account Request: alejandrorodas
Hannes, All new members are committing their own files. I wrote a guide specific to help them after they get their own account. They are also subscribed to this E-Mail list. BTW: we have already translated 80%! If you are the administrator of another language I recommend you to write a few words in the credits page to get other people to help: It REALLY helps. This is how I´m getting most of the new members. (see http://www.php.net/manual/es/) Thanks! Yago On Sun, Dec 11, 2011 at 3:40 AM, Hannes Magnusson hannes.magnus...@gmail.com wrote: Approved.
