Re: [Pingus-Devel] Wanna help because Pingus rocks

2008-07-04 Thread Crecerelle
Hi :-)

Anyway, I've been taking a look at the mailing list archives and I found a
message talking about how to contribute and someone told that the user
submitted levels are never going to make into the main levels, but users can
help by playing, testing and reporting problems.

I was that someone, and I'd be delighted to work through the levels
with you. My life has been pretty hectic of late, so I wasn't able to
do much more than take a look through the level archive. It's starting
to settle down now, though, and I should be able to get back on
track...

So feel free to get in touch if you'd like some help in sorting out
the levels, and let me know what you've done already. Thanks :)

Re: [Pingus-Devel] Working on Pingus content?

Thanks for your answer!

I consider it really important that the levels are properly tested
and fixed when necessary before they can go into a levelset, so just
randomly picking stuff from that directory is a no-no, since half of
them might likely not work properly, which is the reason why they
are stuck in that directory and not available in the GUI.

Yeah, I can see why that would be a bit of a problem... I'll have a
good look around over the next few days.

By the way, do you have any kind of pattern in mind to group those
levels into levelsets? Say, something difficulty-based, or more
thematic levelsets?

Thanks!

[Pingus-Devel] Working on Pingus content?

2008-04-23 Thread crecerelle
Hello :)

I've found out about Pingus a few days ago, and I was wondering if
there were people working on getting more levels into the game. The
game engine itself looks great, but there does not seem to be a lot of
'advertised' content.

I've looked around at the SVN tree and found quite a few levels there;
do you need any help with these levels? (Say, testing) I may try
building some levels of my own, though my Lemmings puzzle skills are a
bit rusty now...

Basically, is there anything I could do to help building content for
Pingus? Thanks!
