It depends on the lab that you use. If a custom lab makes a print it should
be better. If a machine makes the print it could be better or worse than your
"proof." An advantage in ordering an individual print is that you can ask the
lab to crop it as you'd like it. Thus, a square negative might look great in
an 8x10 print...if properly cropped.

Re: [pinhole-discussion] Gregg on the cover of Pinhoel Journal

2001-07-21 Thread Pinholing
Several years ago, there was a picture in Pinhole Journal of folks who
covered windows of a room, except for a dime sized hole that served as a
pinhole. The wall opposite from the hole showed an image from outside. Has
anyone else experimentated with this kind of room-sized pinholing?

Wow...those are great black and white photos! Incidentally, I liked the way
you created your main page with thumbnail pictures. How'd you do it?

I don't think that any lab will touch something like that. They are not set
up to process pieces of film. They are set for long rolls. Most professional
labs (ones that usually process 120) process many rolls at a time. If you
give them a piece of film they will probably be very upset with the prospect
of a piece of film damaging their set up and other film. Be very careful!

The Customer Care number for Calumet is 1-800-453-2550. They should be able

Hi All!

The talk about 4x5 Polaroid reminded me of a special Polaroid camera...their
20x24. Anyone ever hear of a pinhole image made with one of those?

Your pictures are very interesting...aside from the fact that they are made
using a pinhole. Bravo!

Any problems when using a digital camera? In traditional photography we face
reciprocity problems...any unique digital problems?

Altough it's certainly fun to make your own stuff you may want to look at
