[pinhole-discussion] Pinhole Photography Exhibition
Photographs by Renée Creager O’Brien will be on exhibition during the month of June 2002 at Cool Beans, S. Western Ave. Queensbury, NY. The photographs in this exhibition were made using 120 b w negative film loaded in a 1924 Brownie camera converted into a pinhole (lensless) camera. In a chemical darkroom, positives were made on archival papers then hand-colored with Marshall’s Photo Oils. Each image is a unique print. The photographic selections represent recent work that examines landscape in the broadest sense of the term. It is a contemporary landscape veiled in timeless human experiences such as work, leisure daily ritual. Renée Creager O’Brien lives in Hadley and teaches photography at Adirondack Community College. Re: [pinhole-discussion] small toilet darkroom
don't know if there is a website...I just have a copy of his book...r.
Re: [pinhole-discussion] small toilet darkroom
Rob, I think you're referring to Steven Pippin's work..he used a railroad station restroom as a pinhole camera obscura and used the toilet bowl as a developing tank. The Museum of Modern Art has copies of his book that accompanied his exhibit (he also used a washing machine pinhole camera obscura/lab)...Renee

I'm sentimental tooit was great fun thinking about everyone making pinhole images on the same day...reminded me of family Passovers...a seder all over the world and in every country.. made the singular experience of remembering a communal spirit...looking forward to next year and maybe I'll figure our how to scan the image the right size...thanks Greg and all, Renee O'Brien
