I also have a dremel with a flexshaft. I wondered about it, but thought it
would pose the same issues as the drill.

I thought about layering a bunch of pieces from aluminum cans and drilling
through them all at once. Has anyone tried this? I guess there's only one
way to find out if it will work!

Unless you have a way to clamp/compress securely all the layers, the drill
bit would likely brake. What you need is a drill press like this one:

although I don't use it to make my pinholes, I have used it and works
beautifully for that purpose.

Oh, I have a bunch of exacto knives and didn't even think about using that
as a holder. Thanks!

Wow, your site is very informative! That must have taken a long time.

I like your pinhole shots. I got a bunch of altoid tins film cans ready to
shoot with yesterday. But by the time I got the pinholes taped on and the
film loaded in all of them, the sun was going down. Maybe today. . . .?

I lurk on this list but rarely contribute (there are already many informed

Regarding your comment .. ...Or are you sticking this in an eraser like the
 old fashion way?
I find that an X-Acto (or similar) hobby knife makes an excellent needle
drill-bit holding tool - see images on my website's camera project page:

[pinhole-discussion] #80 drill bit

2003-01-05 Thread ethereal art
Hi Traci
I use a Dremel tool flexshaft and I have no problems with tightening it down
on a #80 bit. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get the little guy
straight, though!

Okay, so I ran out and got a #80 drill bit to try. Are you all putting
 these in your drill?
 Thanks!

[pinhole-discussion] #80 drill bit question

Okay, so I ran out and got a #80 drill bit to try. Are you all putting
these in your drill? I'm worried I'll break it when I tighten the chuck.
Plus, I can't seem to get it in straight, which would make a bigger
pinhole. Or are you sticking this in an eraser like the old fashion
way?

Thanks!
