I love the idea of a print swap! Count me in!

There has been some debate on having a theme of self portraiture. I
think that this is a fantastic idea. For those of you who prefer to
leave your artistic opportunities open, opting to have no theme, consider
this. A self portrait doesn't have to have the photographer in it.
Anything, so long as it reflects the photographer ("the self") in some
way, is a self portrait. For a self portrait assignment in school I once
photographed a grisly dead opposum. It was a lovely reflection of my
depressed side, and I later sold it to some guy in Florida who collects
images of roadkill (he said that since his sister was killed in a hit and
run accident he has developed an interest in the subject... I don't
beleive him... but it makes a good story)

Anyway, I think that self portraiture is a great idea. It forces us to
look a subject that we often shy away from. Ourselves. There is
somthing wonderful about looking at an image of yourself and saying "who
is this person?"

That is my take anyway...

I like the idea of a swap of some sort, however, I don't do much "hard copy"
printing-
i.e., I primarily scan negatives and display electronically via the web.

I suppose I could get some decent printer paper, and print via my ink jet
printer, if
this would not offend the traditionalists out there.

I like the idea of the postcards.  I just did this as part of my
photo class this semester.  Each student was to pick their favorite
pinhole photo, print a postcard on Ilford postcard paper and send it to
me, with a brief message which outlined something they learned, or enjoyed
about pinhole photography.  After Christmas break I intend to put
these postcards in our schools web photo gallery.
Self portrait or open would be fine as topics. Self-portraits would
put a face with our list members names!!  Postcards could be sent
either way if someone wished them to be very protected.
Happiest of Holidays and good health to all in 2001.  This list
is the best part of my day!

when the swap is finish, we can gather all the prints and publish a small
booklet in B/W. If we got more than 40 people, I think we can afford to
have one. What do you think?* I
think the booklet idea is an excellent one too! -Chuck-

I agree that it will be very expensive for the shipping and for printing the
prints. How many pinholers are now in the swap list?

For the last swap, all received prints are well pack but one or two large
prints (A4 packed with corrugated paper) still folded by the postman!!! How
about this time we make it in postcard size? Or a bit larger. Thus we can print
more and save more money.

Maybe when the swap is finish, we can gather all the prints and publish a small
booklet in B/W. If we got more than 40 people, I think we can afford to have
