Well said! (You don't have to pay royalties to Mel Torme for the use of
 that line, do you?) ;-)

What do you mean, Mike?

Last nite I was roasting some chestnuts on an open fire, when suddenly came
to me the fact that people try to say Merry Christmas in so many different
ways these days, some trying to be inclusive, some trying not to offend
others, some trying to offend others and some trying to be just politically
correct. In my city's City Hall, what always was known as a Christmas
tree, now it is called Holiday tree!. Anyway, as I said, I was roasting
these chestnuts on an open fire, when the line just came to me!! in part
for the above in part 'cause I thought I could used the shell of a chestnut
to make a pinhole camera. :-)

Hi all pinholers around this list !

I sincerely join Chuck, Guy, Kurt ( + the coming ones) to express my thanks
to Gregg for all the silent work he does for the Pinhole Visions, the
list, WPPD and for the quality of tools he offers to our p at ???munity
for sharing our passion.

Today is Christmas, and 2002 is soon ending. A look backwards may be
useful but the dark clouds looming ahead [Guy] weight heavily on my
thoughts.
As I know that all of you on this list have a special awareness of how
beauty, creativity, life may exist through a tiny simple hole in a box, I
would like to ask you for 2003 to keep on defending your generous vision
of life . At a time where there is more and more discussion everywhere
about the status of Images, the relations between Image and reality,
truth and representation, I am sure we pinholists are touching the
essential point of this issue. If you are not sure of that, just transform a
room into a Camera Obscura in which people (of all ages) may enter and
invite them to discover (= to feel physically + with their thought) what is
une image. Things are never the same after this experience than before!
And we all come back to the oldest questions stimulating mankind through
philosophy, religions, art, science,... that makes Life !

Pinhole practice opens our eyes to the essence of Light, Space, Time, Image.
I'm sure it opens our brain,
I'm sure it opens our heart, too

I was just wanting to wish you all happiness for the future , not only
material comfort but rather Light in your hearts.
I have been much too long, but I cannot dissociate my art practice from my
vision of the world and I needed to share it [just a bit ;-) ] with you.
Thanks for your patience, my friends.

Now, plenty of Light /Time impressions/expressions for you and the folks you
love
Plenty of Peace for our planet !
Cheers from France
Jean

As I check my email here before heading to bed, it is 11:26 Christmas Eve and we
have an inch of snow here in Chillicothe, IL. I plan to shoot a few photos
among the celebrations tomorrow.

I whole hardly agree with Guy:

*In the midst of this, I just want to wish you all a very happy time of
celebration when the bells start ringing Christmas.

May 2003 be full of happy moments for you and your close ones, despite
the dark clouds looming ahead. May this be a year of generosity towards
those in need.

And, for us, the community of pinholers, may this be a year of great fun
and great creativity with our strange photographic contraptions.

And, finally, a very special thank to Gregg Kemp for continuing to be
year-after-year so generous with his time and energy in ensuring that
this list and the Pinhole Visions web site/ressource allows us to get
together and share our common passion. Guy**

Thanks Greg for all you do and thank you to all pinholers around the world whose
talent and creativity inspire and challenge me every time I open my email!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

~Chuck !
