I was asking on friday how to make a pinhole body cap.
I was wondering, do all the mirrors and thing in my SLR make it not work
for pinhole.

Ben,

As long as a cameras has a setting that allows the shutter function to work,
that is: lift the mirror and open up the shutter when the shutter realease
is pressed, that camera is fit fit for pinhole practice. I assume some
cameras' shutter function may not work if a real lens is not installed,
cameras with electronic links between the lens a the body may require to be
set for manual exposure and/or manual focusing.

Giullermo you are correct. Canon FD mount body caps will work on the
following Canon bodies: the F-1, AE-1, A-1, TX, FT-B. I've accumulated these
bodies over the years and they all work with the pinhole resource body cap
as well as my much cheaper self-made body cap with a zone plate. The Canon
EOS bodycaps are labeled accordingly. Thom

Thanks for the replies, does anyone know of an online resource with
 instructions to build a bodycap?

 Here are the instructions:

buy bodycap, drill hole in its center, tape pinhole on the cap.

BTW, Canon F body caps are for FD mount bodies, your AE1 uses FD mount,
AFAIK.
