Edward -

Just thought that I would explain your query, "For some reason some of the
stylish fonts will not appear with Internet Explorer or on a PC."

The reason for this is that you are using fonts that may not be available on an
individual's computer. I would expect this to happen similarly with a Mac if
it did not have the defined font installed.

Best is to define alternative fonts in case the specified one is not on an
individual's computer. You accomplish this thus: . If the
computer does not have a "Textile" font installed, it will use Verdana, and
similarly go down the line.

Alternatively, you have have the font downloaded onto the individual's
computer, though you will lose many visitors if you try to do this.

If you absolutely MUST have us see a particular font then you can capture the
image of the wording and produce it as a GIF. This will take time for the user
to download, so you'll have to decide whether or not this is worthwhile.

It is best not to define on your site that things are best viewed on a Mac
using Netscape (which version of Netscape?). You will be addressing around 2%
of your audience. It is in your best interest to produce a design that will
work well on all computers. Useability is one of the most important elements
in Web design.

Very nice images, by the way. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Cheers -

george

Ed,

Great images as usual. I all so just got through reading your newest article
on pinhole photography, "Pinhole's Feminine Mystique". The only thing that I
found wrong about the article is you have only published 3 of them this
year. I know that you are pretty busy but I do enjoy them and look forward
to reading the next one. If by chance others don't know about Ed's
commentary on pinhole photography go to
http://www.p at ???/diary/Levinson/2000_03.php.

Keep up the great work and thank you Gregg for supplying the space and work.
The pinhole world would be less with out it.

My apologies to the list. I meant to send that last message to Ed

Hi Ed,

I really apologize. I didn't send it out and will do so right away. I try
to mail out the diary news on Wednesdays, but just plain forgot this
week. Thanks for reminding me. I just added it to my computer calendar,
so I will get a reminder each Wednesday from now on.

Thanks again and hope you have a happy holiday. (Do you celebrate
Christmas and New Year's day in Japan?)

There are three brand new sections and also photos have been added to the
Healing Landscapes and Sacred Japan portfolios.

Although a few are "old favorites" moved from other sites, most are new
first time showings online. The photos were taken in Poland, Hungary, USA
(New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania), and Japan.

Comments welcomed.
