I will guess that the opening in the washer exposes 7 teeth of

 7 images superimposed. It's a neat effect, I like the self-portrait

Because of replys like yours,i can tell that folks are reading my comments :)

  ok everyone,
The results are in.This sawblade lens needs further testing. As far as i
can
tell ,i am getting many images side by side.I guess this is partly to do
with
  diffraction?Am i right?
Anyways i ran out of time today and it was raining.i used up a bunch of
film, and i am getting closer to a usable image :)Here is an interesting
  observation though!
The horizontal lines in the image seem pretty sharp. But the verticals have
about 7 lines for each single line.
  Any ideas?
  Harry

[pinhole-discussion] saw blades as pinhole :)

2001-02-14 Thread Figurefoto
Hello folks,
I am testing right now on my lunch hour with a slit type pinhole made with
two pieces of a hack saw blade. They are opposite one another and pulled
tight.i added a washer with a small hole over top of the center of the slit.
Black photo tape is serving as a shutter.I am on my 4 exposure test thanx
to polaroid backs :) Its all mounted on my calumet 4x5 camera. The first 3
exposures show promise!!
I will keep you all up to date.
Thanx for reading my horible writings,
