Many people do, I did looong time ago and was absolutely amazed with the results. I was told that any enlargement from 35mm would fall apart, my experience didn't confirm it, tho. See this examples made by enlarging 35mm negatives to 8x10 (aprox) and then scanning the print with a low end flat bed scanner. http://members.home.net/penate/fire.html http://members.home.net/penate/maniq1.html http://members.home.net/penate/church.html Guillermo

Barry, 35 mm and smaller have been used in pinhole. Go out and have some fun, pinhole is for those who like to play! And you sound like a player! Re: [pinhole-discussion] basic question
Yes, I've used cheap plastic 35mm cameras with the lens removed and replaced with a pinhole. I shot on cheap fuji print film printed at Wal-mart ... results were o.k. I just got back a couple test shots with my Pentax SLR. I mounted a pinhole in a t-mount adapter that I can mount to my camera like any other lens. If there is enough light out I can use the viewfinder for composing and the in camera meter to shoot in aperture priority mode. My test shots on FUJI Sensia II 100 slide film came out nicely exposed - subject mater is another story :) aperture I estimated to be about f/180, exposures were between 1 and 6 seconds on an overcast day. Don't expect much resolution shooting this way. RE: [pinhole-discussion] basic question
Sure, lots of people have and do, all the time. Some people fit a pinhole in front of a 35mm camera, some expose 35mm film in camera made from 35mm canisters. It works fine. If you want enlargements from 35mm that are sharp, you'll probably be disappointed (but then why use pinhole?) I've shot and scanned 127 cartridge film (same width as 35mm format) and digitally printed up to 8x10 and liked the results. But it depends on what you're going for.
