Bug#449332: pixfrogger: pick up the language from the enviroment

2007-11-05 Thread Paul Wise
Package: pixfrogger
Version: 1.0-1
Severity: wishlist

When I start pixfrogger it asks me to choose between Spanish and
English. I already chose English when I logged into my computer, and
pixfrogger should be able to detect my locale and use it. As you can see
below, other programs (such as reportbug) are perfectly capable of
this.

Bug#449330: funguloids: won't start on machines without nvidia-cg-toolkit

2007-11-05 Thread Paul Wise
Package: funguloids
Version: 1.06-4
Severity: normal

I tried to start funguloids on my laptop with an intel card. I expected
that it would start since the dependencies were satisfied. It failed
with the following output. I suggest that it should depend on
nvidia-cg-toolkit. It would be useful if it could gracefully degrade to
lower quality graphics when nVidia shaders are not available.

It might not be as easy as it sounds. I'll have to check if fenix, the
language and environment used to develop the game, is capable of that in a
simple way, and if not I'd probably have to fix that first, and afterwards fix
the program.

Thanks for the report anyway, I'll try to fix it as soon as I can.

Bug#448991: Update on Attempt

2007-11-05 Thread Eddy Petrișor
On 04/11/2007, ericzen [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
 Package: wormux

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

I, too, found that point on their site and gna (regarding an ubuntu
report). I did a complete removal (and deleted lingering directories
(moving the one in my home over).

Ok...

I don't have that classics, but that's not the problem. An attempted
fresh re-install came to the same problem.

Well, I think you kind of null-ified any chance of reproducing the
same bug you encountered and reported initially. I asked for the
classic.xml file *you* modified.

That was the file I was interested in.

Getting the original file was as simple as reinstalling the wormux-data package.

You say that after install you found the same problem. Do you mean
that you *purged* *both* wormux and womux-data and *still* got a
segfault?

I was trying to install it via source from their site (after another
fresh complete removal (+directories) ) and came across an odd problem:
It can't find libcurl or libxml++, despite me adjusting the individual

Yes, because they are versioned in Debian. But still I don't think is
relevant for Debian you reproducing that bug with the original source,
since the Debian source contains some fixes which the original source
does not.

Please, if you still have your modified classic.xml file, send that to
the BTS. After that, purge and reinstall both wormux and wormux-data
and see if your bug is still present.

P.S.: If you really want to compile from upstream's source, which I
*don't*recommend*, try to apt-get build-dep wormux (as root) and
then to compile the source. That command will take care to install the
build dependencies and will allow a clean build.

Re: Bug#423200: quake2: should this package be orphaned?

2007-11-05 Thread Lucas Nussbaum
Hi,

Debian games team: quake2 has been orphaned, it might be interesting for
the team.

On 05/11/07 at 22:50 +1100, Jamie Wilkinson wrote:

Ok, my fault for not acting on the bug, but orphaning without my permission

 1) When you reply to my mail, please don't drop me from the To: or
Cc: field. I just hope it was done by mistake, and not so that I
wouldn't notice that you closed the bug.

 Apologies, that wasn't my intention.

 2) Please don't close this bug, as I use it to track this issue.

Your instructions were to close this bug if I disagreed with it.

Well, the original message was:
| If you disagree and want to continue to maintain this package, please
| close this bug, preferably in an upload also fixing the other issues.

The preferably part is important :-)

I restored the previous state of the bug. Please act on those RC bugs
now. I've marked the package as to check again in 20 days in my list
 for now.

I was thinking this over, and I perhaps reacted too quickly just now --
perhaps you are right, and I won't get more time to work on this package in
 the near future.

Ok, thanks for taking this decision.

However your methods leave a lot to be desired. I don't like the
implication that I have to do work to satisfy your checklist. The package
in question is not causing loss of life, it's not costing millions of
 dollars.

I'm not asking for the moon. My criteria basically boils down to is in
a releasable state. In the case of quake2, it hasn't been able to
migrate to testing for 827 days, and has 2 RC bugs.

You could have asked me nicely to consider if I was going to be
able to do the work to clean up the package, and suggest the benefits (for
me) to have the package orphaned instead; but rather you have been blunt and
have not instilled within me a feeling of cooperation or goodwill.

Well, there's no real benefit for you in having the package orphaned :)
I've pinged you on several occasions on this bug, without any progress on
the RC bugs. This is already very time-consuming (I don't have anything
against you or quake2: I have at least 30 other packages on my radar).
So I'm trying to do my best.

If you want to continue to participate in quake2 maintenance, maybe you
should contact the debian games team: they would probably agree that you
maintain the package inside the team, and it usually helps to share the
load. :)

Also, another question: do you mind if I orphan quake2-data ? It would
probably be better if quake2 and quake2-data were maintained by the same
person/team.

Bug#442411: (no subject)

2007-11-05 Thread Francois Marier
severity 442411 grave
thanks

This bug should be release-critical since it renders the package completely
unusable on dual-core amd64 machines.

Bug#449367: RFS: lincity-ng/1.1.2-1 (Was: Bug#449367: New upstream release fixes important bugs)

2007-11-05 Thread Cyril Brulebois
tag 449367 pending
thanks

alain Baeckeroot [EMAIL PROTECTED] (05/11/2007):
release 1.1.2 fix one important bug which severely affect game
playability of 1.1.1 (which should be discarded), and contains many
improvements compared to 1.0.3 (translations, docs, graphics, bufixes
 ...)

A source package is ready (not tagged in svn, though) at:
  http://alioth.debian.org/~kibi-guest/lincity-ng/lincity-ng_1.1.2-1.dsc

The source diff is hmm 500 lines, with autostuff. The Debian packaging
didn't change much.

Alain, it's not being uploaded right away since ftp-master is currently
having some hardware troubles, but that should happen soon, hence
tagging with pending.

Cheers,

Bug#449475: src/cmd/collide/prapid.* cannot be distributed

2007-11-05 Thread Vincent Fourmond
Package: vegastrike
Version: 0.4.3.debian-1
Severity: serious

  Hello,

After looking up copyright notices in the various files in the
vegastrike tarball, it appeared that the files
src/cmd/collide/prapid.h and src/cmd/collide/prapid.cpp cannot be
distributed.

Indeed, the code is said to be Copyright (C) 1998 by Jorrit
Tyberghein and licensed under the GPL, but it is said to be based on
an implementation originally Copyright 1995 The University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill, and whose license only permits
modification/distribution and so on 'for educational, research and
non-profit purposes'. This is, to my knowledge, incompatible with the
GPL. So these files cannot be distributed.

  Regards,

Vincent
