Bug#362500: duplicated?

2006-04-24 Thread Rafael Rodríguez
Hi,

I think this is a duplicate of #359979, found here:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=359979

Wouldn't it be possible, at least, some kind of NMU? It isn't hard at all to
fix...

Regards,

Rafael Rodríguez

Bug#359862: lucene: FTBFS: Tries to use jikes without Build-Depends

  Thanks for your use of Debian and the lucene package.
 Good catch; this package should be updated to use ecj as
 its compiler anyway.

Strange, I can't reproduce the problem. Also, even if jikes is not a
dependency, it depends on kaffe which has is compiler (javac). It used
to be jikes but it's now ecj.

I'll update the svn repository to fit the 1.4.3-9 situation but I'll not
upload a new revision.

IMHO, we can close this bug. Daniel, can you try to rebuild lucene with
an up-to-date pbuilder?

Many thanks.

Apache Software Foundation (ASF) Struts before 1.2.9 allows remote
attackers to bypass validation via a request with a
'org.apache.struts.taglib.html.Constants.CANCEL' parameter, which
causes the action to be canceled but would not be detected from
applications that do not use the isCancelled check.

ActionForm in Apache Software Foundation (ASF) Struts before 1.2.9
with BeanUtils 1.7 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of
service via a multipart/form-data encoded form with a parameter name
that references the public getMultipartRequestHandler method, which
provides further access to elements in the
CommonsMultipartRequestHandler implementation and BeanUtils.

Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in (1) LookupDispatchAction
and possibly (2) DispatchAction and (3) ActionDispatcher in Apache
Software Foundation (ASF) Struts before 1.2.9 allows remote attackers
to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the parameter name, which
is not filtered in the resulting error message.

Good news: it's easy to fix;
Bad news: we have to drop jdbc2 support.

Well it's maybe not has bad has it seems, jdbc2 is really old. The
problem seems to be the java.sql api changed and some interfaces added
new methods. We could add stubs. What do you think?

1° drop jdbc2 for postgresql driver?

2° add stubs to the postgresql driver classes?

Thanks for your comments,

Package: jikes-kaffe
Version: 2:1.1.6.91-2
Severity: normal

While trying to build worldwind2d, I ran into a problem using
String.replace(). I extracted the following test code to demonstrate
the problem:

/*
 Test code based on real world example found in worldwind2d
*/
public class testStringReplace {
public static void main(String[] args) {

String data = foo/{x}/{y}/bar;
String url = data.replace({x},
  new Integer(1).toString()).replace({y},
  new Integer(2).toString());
return;
}
}

When trying to build it using jikes-kaffe, I get this error:

  Found 1 semantic error compiling testStringReplace.java:

 --
 8. String url = data.replace({x},
 9.   new
Integer(1).toString()).replace({y},
---

  *** Semantic Error: No applicable overload for a method with
  signature replace(java.lang.String, java.lang.String) was
  found in type java.lang.String. Perhaps you wanted the
  overloaded version java.lang.String replace(char $1, char $2);
  instead?

When I try to build the same test code using jikes-classpath, it build
just fine. Because of this, I believe kaffe must be missing
something. :)

This may instead be a bug in Jakarta Commons Collections - to which
FastTreeMap.fullCollection.version1.obj belongs - but I assume the
Collections authors succeed in deserializing using Sun's libraries

This bug prevents the Jakarta Commons Collections build tests from
succeeding

Thanks always for maintaining free Java in Debian!
