Package: libtomcat6-java
Version: 6.0.20-5
Severity: important

The symlink /usr/share/tomcat6/lib/jasper.jar appears to have moved
from tomcat6-common (in 6.0.20-2) to libtomcat6-java (in
6.0.20-5). Because of this, upgrades fail (excuse the Swedish):

Förbereder att ersätta libtomcat6-java 6.0.20-2 (med
.../libtomcat6-java_6.0.20-5_all.deb) ...
Packar upp ersättande libtomcat6-java ...

/var/cache/apt/archives/libtomcat6-java_6.0.20-5_all.deb (--unpack):
försöker skriva över /usr/share/tomcat6/lib/jasper.jar som också finns i
paketet tomcat6-common

Seems like libtomcat6-java needs a Conflicts with tomcat6-common ( 6.0.20-5).

Retrying the update succeeds, since by then the new tomcat6-common has
already been unpacked.

Package: tomcat6
Version: 6.0.20-5
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Installing tomcat6-admin on a brand new Debian/squeeze gets nothing but
a crash, when accessing the admin page. A similar crash happens when
accessing any web app.

I reproduced this on a fresh squeeze (a xen host made for this purpose).
  apt-get install tomcat6-admin
  edit /etc/tomcat6/tomcat-users.xml
   - uncomment the users section
   - change passwords
   - add 'admin' and 'manager' to user 'tomcat'
Point a browser to port 8080 on that host. Get the 'It Works' page.
Click on the 'manager webapp' link, get to ...:8080/manager/html, and
see a 500 page with

We had a similar problem after upgrading from tomcat6 from 6.0.20-2

If I can provide any additional information, I'd be glad to do so.

doing now the opposite, as it respects more the way things were done
before. So this situation is only temporary, if your package is rebuilt

Does this mean we should upload 6.0.20-6 to the archive?

Bug#548304: libcommon-collections3 should not be installed by tomcat5.5 by default (it should not be a depend)

2009-09-25 Thread Javier Barroso
Package: tomcat5.5
Version: 5.5.26-5
Severity: important

Hi,

We had a issue because /usr/share/tomcat5.5/common/lib/commons-collections3.jar
was installed, and our app developped in its origin in a tomcat /opt
installation, incluyed another commons-collections3 version.

So in a webservice we was making a post request from another server and
commons-collections3 introduced incompatibilities with the other version.

Specifically our post request from localhost was:
POST /.../.../.. HTTP/1.1
Content-Type: x-application/hessian
User-Agent: Java/1.6.0_12
Host: :8080
Accept: text/html, image/gif, image/jpeg, *; q=.2, */*; q=.2
Connection: keep-alive
Transfer-Encoding: chunked

HTTP/1.1 200 OK

When I tried from the other server was:
POST /.../.../.. HTTP/1.1
Content-Type: x-application/hessian
User-Agent: Java/1.6.0_12
Host: :8080
Accept: text/html, image/gif, image/jpeg, *; q=.2, */*; q=.2
Connection: keep-alive
Transfer-Encoding: chunked

24e

HTTP/1.1 200 OK

The '0' was the cause of malfunction of our app.

Removing /usr/share/tomcat5.5/common/lib/commons-collections3.jar and our app
worked with its own commons-collections3.jar.

I think about using in both extremes the same commons-collections3.jar, would
be a good workarround, but it is not the case.

The issue is, if tomcat5.5 tarball not include commons-collections3, why debian
package should provide it ?

I would recommend downgrading from depend to recommend. What do you think ?

Do you know any workarround without having to remove this file ? I guess I can
configure tomcat to search in other directory before than the default.

Thank you!

I am not sure if that is a real bug in the Debian package but one
thing is certain: it won't be fixed anymore, because tomcat5.5 got
removed from Debian unstable in favor of tomcat6.

Bug#502879: azureus: has problems decoding file names in some torrents

TuxPaper managed to provide us with a patch that fixes the issue.
I have manually backported it, and added some variable that was missing

 uploaded soon (4.2.0.8-2).

A short test of that version shows the first problem indeed fixed, but the
second is not (where Japanese characters are decoded into question marks, that
still happens with the second non-working example torrent).

Bug#502879: azureus: has problems decoding file names in some torrents

2009-09-25 Thread Adrian Perez
Well, that's not my area of expertise, but in a general fashion, the
decoding of japanese characters is working since one of the japanese
examples worked well. I'll forward your comment upstream, but I think
there's something wrong with the torrent itself, failing to set the
required metadata for clients to interpret that they should be using
UTF8 for decoding the filename.
Do you have experience with another BitTorrent client which is able to
display that particular filename properly?
Thanks for your feedback.

Bug#545674: tomcat6: Crashes when trying to run a web app, including admin

2009-09-25 Thread Jakub Skoczen
Ok, I have checked the packages from unstable and they work fine -
that was expected, as the 02debian.policy is updated with a maven
entry. When I take the entry out, webapps break in the same way. I'm
not sure if you want to pursue that anymore (they DO work now) but I
still find it weird that this entry has to be there. Ludovic, didn't
you mention rebuilding the packages so jars from maven-repo are no
longer referenced?

the following should work with rc2, but I get an error:

It may just be me lacking a clue, in which case some note about this
particular usage could be added to README.Debian.

libvecmath1.2-java is unofficial and unmaintained implementation of vecmath
api. We now have the official implementation in the repository (source vecmath,
binary libvecmath-java). Please migrate the build dependency for cdk
accordingly.
Also I have noticed that cdk misses corresponding runtime dependency on
libvecmath-java. Please fix this as well.

FYI: The status of the pja source package

  Previous version: 2.5-5

The script that generates this mail tries to extract removal
reasons from comments in the britney hint files. Those comments
were not originally meant to be machine readable, so if the
reason for removing your package seems to be nonsense, it is
probably the reporting script that got confused. Please check the
actual hints file before you complain about meaningless removals.

Building this package with default-jdk is probably not a good idea
as we had some issues in the past when building the package with GCJ.
default-jdk points on some archs to openjdk but on others to gcj.
So we need to be careful here.

I applied the Depends line of libdom4j-java and some other changes
to version 1.6.1+dfsg.2-2 of the package and so closing the bug
report.

Thanks for providing the patch.

Cheers,
Michael

Bug#502879: azureus: has problems decoding file names in some torrents

2009-09-25 Thread Christian Ohm
On Friday, 25 September 2009 at 13:26, Adrian Perez wrote:
The file shows me ok, the question marks, in The_8472 and Nolar words,
means you don't have the font/character-set installed.
There's nothing wrong with the code know, as far as we can see.

It's not a font issue, the Japanese filenames that are decoded correctly are
all shown correctly as well in Azureus, and in contrast, when I download this
torrent with azureus, the filename is wrong in other programs as well.

When I load this torrent, I get the attached result, where the first file
should be (ドラマ)エジソンの母 第01話..., but each kana (not kanji) is
replaced with a question mark. Kana and kanji are two types of Japanese
characters, where kana are only used in Japan, and kanji are adapted from
Chinese.

Looking at the torrent file itself (with less on an utf-8 terminal), it seems
it contains the filenames twice, once as path in (I guess, it is shown as
encoding before) big5 (which is a Chinese encoding and so probably cannot
represent the Japanese-only kana), and once as path.utf-8 which is shown
correctly. But even when I set Files - Torrents - Decoding Character Sets -
Default torrent encoding when selection required to UTF-8, Azureus still shows
question marks - looks to me like it just uses the first filename it finds,
while qbittorrent and transmission use the UTF-8 name.

Best regards,
Christian Ohm

Bug#547179: Should depend on Antlr v3, not v2

2009-09-25 Thread Florian Weimer
* Tommi Vainikainen:

 Florian Weimer f...@deneb.enyo.de writes:
Stringtemplate parses the templates using an antlr-generated parser
(and version 2 at that), so the dependency is really there.

I stand corrected. However, could the Antlr v2 packaging be modified
then so that user installing antlr3 would not get confused? Does
stringtemplate really need antlr v2 executables, or just simple library
 part of antlr v2?

I think the library should be sufficient.
