Bug#820773: libjlha-java: FTBFS, can't find a javac compiler

2016-04-11 Thread Logan Rosen
Package: libjlha-java
Version: 0.0.20050504-8
Severity: serious
Tags: patch
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu xenial ubuntu-patch

Dear Maintainer,

libjlha-java currently fails to build from source on at least amd64 because
it can't find a javac compiler:
https://tests.reproducible-builds.org/rb-pkg/unstable/amd64/libjlha-java.html

This is due to an obsolete build dependency on default-jdk-builddep.

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:

  * debian/control: Build-depend on default-jdk instead of obsolete
default-jdk-builddep to fix FTBFS.

Thanks for considering the patch.

Logan Rosen

Hi,

jajuk depends on libcommons-httpclient-java, which is obsolete and was
replaced by libhttpclient-java. It has reached EOL status in 2011! It is no
longer supported upstream [1] and was affected by multiple security issues in
the recent past. jajuk should be ported to the new libhttpclient-java
version, so that we can remove the old, unmaintained one. Please forward this
issue upstream, if you can't migrate the package yourself.

We would like to see libcommons-httpclient-java removed during the Stretch
release cycle but due to the large number of reverse-dependencies the outcome
depends more than ever on your help.

Please help us to accomplish this goal. We will bump this issue to important
when the list of rdeps is getting smaller and we think that the removal is
possible. We will eventually raise the severity to serious when the number
of rdeps is small.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask and contact us on

debian-j...@list.debian.org

Regards,

Markus

Hi,

jajuk depends on substance which has been unmaintained for years.
Please consider to move away from substance or to become the new
maintainer of the upstream project. substance still depends on asm2
which is incompatible with Java7 or above and we would like to remove
this outdated asm version from Debian.

I have forwarded this bug report to Jajuk's issue tracker at
github.com.

Bug#801321: commons-javaflow: depends on obsolete libasm2-java library

2016-04-11 Thread Markus Koschany
Control: severity -1 serious

This is now the last package that blocks the removal of libasm2-java and
the old substance and liblaf-* src packages. I'm raising the severity to
serious because we should either fix this bug or request the removal of
commons-javaflow before the next freeze to avoid shipping libasm2-java
in Stretch.

Package: liblaf-widget-java
Severity: important
User: pkg-java-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: oldlibs libasm2-java

Hi,

liblaf-widget-java depends on libasm2-java, which is obsolete and was replaced
by
libasm4-java. liblaf-widget-java should be ported to the new libasm4-java
version, so that we can remove the old, unmaintained one.

There are only four packages in Debian which depend on libasm2-java:

 - substance
 - liblaf-widget-java
 - jasperreports
 - commons-javaflow

substance and liblaf-widget-java are both five years old and there is no
indication of upstream development. substance is a build-dependency of
jajuk which is still actively developed but the Debian package is outdated.
jasperreports is also severely outdated. commons-javaflow has no
reverse-dependencies and a very low popcon value.

It would be great to "save" the first three packages, commons-javaflow should
probably be removed.

Regards,

Markus

This is the last blocker for openjdk-7 removal.

The package is going to be maintained in experimental only (where

Bug#820684: fop: please make the build reproducible (username, hostname, timestamps, locale)

2016-04-11 Thread Alexis Bienvenüe
Source: fop
Version: 1:2.1-2
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch upstream
User: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: username hostname timestamps locale
X-Debbugs-Cc: reproducible-bui...@lists.alioth.debian.org

Dear Maintainer,

While working on the “reproducible builds” effort [1], we have noticed
that 'fop' could not be built reproducibly.

The attached patch fixes the encoding of documentation files, strips the
timestamp from the fop-ttfreader man page, and removes hostname,
username and OS info from MANIFEST files.
Once applied, fop can be built reproducibly in our current experimental
framework.

Regards,
Alexis Bienvenüe.
