[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#574269: [smb4k] Don't startup due to missing umount.cifs

2010-03-17 Thread Robert Wohlrab
Package: smb4k
Version: 0.10.5-1
Severity: serious

When I start smb4k it presents a dialog with the information:

Either your PATH environment variable is not set properly or there are the
following programs missing on your system:
umount.cifs
Please correct this and restart Smb4K.

As there is no more umount.cifs in Debian sid it makes smb4k unusable for
everyone.

Hi,

During a rebuild of all packages in sid, your package failed to build on

About the archive rebuild: The rebuild was done on about 50 AMD64 nodes
of the Grid'5000 platform, using a clean chroot. Internet was not
accessible from the build systems.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#574269: smb4k serious issue wrt cifs

2010-03-17 Thread Alexander Reinholdt
Hello Fathi,

thank you for bringing this to my attention. I need some time to investigate
this issue, check what options are available and modify the code accordingly.

A quick check showed that using sudo and mount.cifs umount would work (you
need no entry in /etc/fstab in this case), but this is not really a solution
for users who cannot gain super user privileges to change /etc/sudoers.

fusesmb seems to need a lot of configuration (I haven't used it until now).
Maybe this is the way to go, but I'm a bit reluctant to implement support for
it...

Best regards
Alexander

   * As of this version, the mount.cifs binary is no longer setuid due to
upstream concerns about the audit status of this code. As a
consequence, users will no longer be able to run mount.cifs directly to
mount shares unless mount points have been individually configured in
/etc/fstab with the user mount option.

Sites that require their users to retain the ability to mount arbitrary
CIFS shares without system-level configuration may want to consider
  using the fusesmb package instead.

It seems smb4k should migrate to fusesmb or maybe you have a better
  proposal ?

 Cheers,

 Fathi

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#574390: Please take over kmymoney2-plugin-aqbanking

2010-03-17 Thread Micha Lenk
Package: kmymoney
Version: 3.96.0-1
Severity: minor
Tags: patch

Hi,

with the aqbanking plugin now being part of kmymoney, the Debian package
kmymoney2-plugin-aqbanking is obsolete. So this package will be removed from
the archive soon.

Users that upgrade their Debian system from Lenny to Squeeze should not notice
this transition. Hence I suggest the addition of appropriate conflicts/replaces
dependencies, causing the package kmymoney2-plugin-aqbanking being removed when
upgrading to kmymoney. See the attached patch for further details.

As soon as this patch (or some similar solution) is part of the package and
uploaded to unstable I'll request the removal of the obsolete
kmymoney2-plugin-aqbanking package.

Regards
  Micha
