Well, that's the unfortunate state of security on the Linux desktop (and other
major desktop OSes).
Largely there is no privilege separation between applications.
They all run in the same context so they can't really keep secrets from each
other.
Technologies like Flatpak and Snappy are trying to solve this by sandboxing
applications [0].

Imho a dependency on inxi is way too strong. Especially considering that inxi
pulls in quite a lot
of packages.

Adding inxi to Suggests and creating a symlink to inxi on the other hand seems
reasonable to me.
That way /sysinfo will work once you manually install inxi.

quassel-client already depends on phonon4qt5-backend-vlc | phonon-backend
through phonon4qt5.
phonon4qt5-backend-vlc is the default backend.
There is no reason why quassel would need a specific backend.

Debug packages will soon be automatically generated and provided in a
separate archive.
Therefore I won't manually add one to quassel.

From reading the bug reports oxygen-gtk upstream is (understandably) very
upset about the removal of the theming API so I wouldn't expect activity
in that direction.

Package: redshift-plasmoid

Hi! Plasma 5 has arrived to testing a few weeks ago and so all Plasma 4
widgets have become unusable.

Please consider either porting this widget to Plasma5 or asking for it's
removal from the archive.

Thanks,

 Dear Maintainer,
After the transition to Plasma 5, apparently kio-mtp got removed from
 my system.
I can't connect my Android phone to Debian anymore.
Any attempt to reinstall the kio-mtp package results in Plasma 5 and
 related packages being removed.

kio-extras ships the necessary plugin for Plasma 5 and is
 automatically pulled in by plasma-workspace.
So with Plamsa 5 kio-mtp is obsolete.

Would you please submit the RM bug.

plasma-workspace is not yet in testing.

In my experience python-qt4, pykde4 and python-sip are always a bit fragile.
Maybe this crash is caused by the fact that python-qt4 and pykde4 are built
against different Qt versions.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#597719: [kchmviewer] must depend on okular-extra-backends

2010-10-05 Thread Felix Geyer
okular-extra-backends seems to be only necessary when
you use the the KHTMLPart widget which is not the default.

IMHO kchmviewer should recommend okular-extra-backends
instead of depending on it.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#582185: skrooge: missing dependency on libqt4-sql-sqlite

2010-05-18 Thread Felix Geyer
Package: skrooge
Version: 0.7.0-1
Severity: important

From looking at the source code skrooge can't work without
the QSQLITE plugin, so it should depend on libqt4-sql-sqlite.

2010-05-18 Thread Felix Geyer
Source: kmess
Version: 2.0.3-1
Justification: ftbfs
Severity: serious

kmess FTBFS as kdelib5-dev dropped the dependency on cmake
and kmess doesn't build-depend on cmake.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#581498: Recommend www-browser instead of custom browser list

2010-05-13 Thread Felix Geyer
Package: kile
Version: 1:2.1.0~svn1112278beta4-1
Severity: minor

Currently kile recommends konqueror | iceweasel but I don't
think kile specifically needs these browsers.
So instead it should just recommend the virtual package www-browser.
