Bug#571821: jackd: Memory locking defaults to unlimited

2010-02-28 Thread Michael Andritschke
Package: jackd
Version: 0.118+svn3796-2
Severity: normal

The following message appears when starting jackd:

Memory locking is unlimited - this is dangerous. You should probably alter the
line:
 @audio   -  memlockunlimited
in your /etc/limits.conf to read:
 @audio   -  memlock3046545

I seem not to have such a file installed. Instead debconf has created
/etc/security/limits.d/audio.conf which contains the given line.
If it wasn't for the fact that my changes there may get lost on the
next update, I would suggest to just fix the notification message.
Where am I supposed to change this setting?

Second, if it is dangerous jackd shouldn't be configured by default
with unlimited memory locking in the first place.

Best regards,
Michael

Package: vlc
Version: 0.8.1-1
Severity: normal

vlc uses the virtual desktop resolution for full screen mode, while it
should use the viewport resolution.

In my case, I normally work in 1280x960, but my tvout only supports
resolutions up tp 800x600. To play a movie, I switch resolution to
800x600 (using ctrl-alt-+). Then I can use mplayer and xine nicely at
800x600 resolution in fullscreen. VLC however, still thinks the
screen is 1280x960 and scales the image accordingly, causing it not to
fit on my tv.

This happens both with xv and xshm output.

The problem seems to be the use of DisplayWidth() and DisplayHeight()
instead of XF86VidModeGetViewPort() in xcommon.c.

gavl override disparity

2010-02-28 Thread Archive Administrator
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

libgavl-doc_1.1.2-1_all.deb: package says priority is optional, override says
extra.
libgavl1_1.1.2-1_i386.deb: package says priority is optional, override says
extra.

Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the
archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell,
httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video,
xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into
these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if
the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package
at the next upload.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please file a bug against ftp.debian.org and
explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we
won't be able to deal with your request due to missing information.

Please make sure that the subject of the bug you file follows the
following format:

Subject: override: BINARY1:section/priority, [...], BINARYX:section/priority

Include the justification for the change in the body of the mail please.

[NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you already filed a bug
and have not received a response yet, please ignore this mail. Your bug
needs to be processed by a human and will be in due course, but until
then the installer will send these automated mails; sorry.]
