did you mean to write 'sparc' instead of 'sparc64'? Debian does not have
a pure 64bit sparc port (yet).

AFAIUI while 32bit only old sparc stations are no longer supported, the
userland is still 32bit.

Yeah, I meant in svn trunk.  I will do a new release sometime soon,
still finishing up some things.

12:22  torbenh3 adi: it provides binary compatibility of an app built against 
  a higher version of jack against a 0.116.2 jack. 
12:24  torbenh3 in other words. a session enabled program will not complain 
  if you downgrade to 0.116.2 .. (you just wont have session 
  support)

- The pymedia project includes much of the ffmpeg code, while it should
better dynamically link to the existing ffmpeg libs (like
libavformat.so.52 and libavcodec.so.52)
- The included ffmpeg code is badly outdated and not cleanly separated
- The code-base seems to be unmaintained.
- It depends on the i386 architecture
- We already have python-gst0.10 and pygame for python multimedia support

So it might be a bad idea to Maintain a Debian package for pymedia.
Anyway I created a initial package for you to experiment with.
In the current state the package compiles and installs without problems
on amd64 but the import fails.
